FAQ Four Cabin House:

1. Where is the cabin located?
The cabin is located in Utsjoki, in the far north of Finnish Lapland, atop a picturesque fell, surrounded by 80 hectares (200 acres) of private land where you can find a waterfall, streams, and panoramic views of the wilderness.

2. How many people can the cabin accommodate?
The cabin can accommodate up to 4+3 adults/children. (4 in 2x dedicated sleeping spaces and another 3 with temporary bedding

3. What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in: 16:00 (4:00 PM)
Check-out: 12:00 (12:00 PM)
 

4. Are pets allowed?
Yes, house-trained pets are welcome, please clean after your animal in Nature.

5. Are bedding and towels provided?
Yes, fresh clean bedding and towels are included for all guests.

 

6. What services are included in the rental price?
Included services:

Firewood for the fireplaces
Transport from the parking lot to the cabin on arrival and departure days

(Experienced guests can also opt to drive the ATV/Snowscooter themselves)


7. Are there any chargeable services available?
Yes, additional services can be arranged for an extra fee. Services can be booked via us or yourself directly via our Partners. Please check the activities section for details


8. How do I get to the cabin?
Guests park in a designated lot at the beginning of the property, transportation from the parking area to the cabin on your arrival and departure days is provided on arrival and departure day. Depending on the season this is done either via an All-terrain vehicle or Snow scooter. Experienced guests can also use those vehicles for transportation themselves.

9. Do I need a car to reach the cabin?
Yes, a car is recommended to reach the parking lot and explore the surrounding area, as public transportation options are limited in this remote area. However, if preferred the entire stay can be arranged without own transportation if preferred.

10. Is there internet access in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with internet access allowing normal conveniences like streaming or remote working

11. What kitchen facilities are available?
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, including a refrigerator, oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, and all necessary cookware and utensils.

12. Are there fireplaces in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin features two fireplaces for your comfort.

13. Is there a sauna in the cabin?
Yes the Cabin has a traditional Finnish Sauna that guests can easily use

14. What activities are available nearby?
The cabin is surrounded by pristine wilderness, perfect for:

Hiking, Snowshoeing, Skiing & other seasonal activities can be arranged upon request (extra fees apply).


15. How far is the nearest grocery store?
The nearest grocery store is approximately 40 minutes away by car in either Utsjoki Finland or Karasjokk, Norway. For convenience we can prefill the cabin on arrival day, selection however, this is limited to the local grocery stores.

16. How far are emergency services?
Emergency services are located about 2 hours away, therefore we recommend taking precautions and preparing well for any outdoor activities. In Emergencies, the Geo Locations are provided inside the cabins.

17. Are there any medical facilities nearby?
The nearest basic medical facility is 40 minutes away with the closest full medical station 2.5 hours away. Please ensure you bring the necessary medications and first-aid supplies you may use.

18. Is there mobile phone reception?
Yes, mobile phone reception is available in the cabin area, though signal strength may vary depending on your provider and your exact location

19. What should I pack for my stay?
We recommend packing:

Warm clothing including gloves (especially in winter)
Appropriate footwear for hiking or snowshoeing
Any specific groceries or supplies you may need during your stay, as the nearest store is 40 minutes away


20. Is there a TV in the cabin?
Yes, the cabin is equipped with a television for your entertainment with several Streaming services available free of charge

21. Are cleaning services provided?
Yes,  final cleaning upon departure is included in your stay, only in cases of damage or negligence causing damage will there be a fee or deduction from the deposit

22. Can I see the northern lights from the cabin?
Yes, the cabin's north-facing location in Utsjoki offers excellent opportunities for seeing the northern lights, especially during the winter months. With minimal light pollution, the cabin provides an ideal setting for aurora viewing right from your doorstep.

23. What wildlife can be seen in the area?
Utsjoki is home to a variety of wildlife. You may encounter reindeer, arctic foxes, and a range of bird species right outside the cain. However, larger animals like bears or lynx/bobcats/elks while rare can also be observed

24. What kind of heating does the cabin have?
The cabin is equipped with central underfloor heating, as well as two fireplaces to create a cozy atmosphere.

25. Are there hiking trails nearby?
Yes, there are several hiking trails around the cabin that allow you to explore the surrounding fells and wilderness. Guided hikes can also be arranged for an extra fee. Hiking can also simply start by stepping out of the cabin and picking the direction you want to walk.

26. Is there a local contact in case of issues during the stay?
Yes, a local contact will be available to assist you in case of any issues during your stay. Their contact information will be provided upon booking. Also, the Cabins owner are always able to assist if needed.

27. Are there any local restaurants or cafes nearby?
There are local dining options in Utsjoki, but they are a bit of a drive away (approximately 40 minutes). Unless custom services are ordered with the booking, it's recommended that you bring your own food to prepare in the fully equipped kitchen.

28. Do you offer airport transfers?
Airport transfers can be arranged for an additional fee. Please contact us in advance to schedule this service.

29. Do I need to pay a deposit in addition to the rental fee?
Yes,  for first-time guests we require 1 000 EUR deposit, this fee will be returned to you within a week of your stay. We require this due to the high-end furnitures and equipment in the cabin.
